sabres guys split

When Lukas Rousek scored his first NHL goal just four minutes into the Buffalo Sabres' game against the Montreal Canadiens on Monday, nobody cheered louder than
Jiri Kulich
.

Just a few days ago, both Rousek and Kulich were playing with the Rochester Americans, the AHL affiliate of the Sabres. With the uncertainty surrounding Tage Thompson's injury, the Sabres recalled Rousek on Saturday. After Thompson was ruled out of Monday's game, the 23-year-old cracked the lineup.
On his
first NHL shift, he scored
to tie the game.
And Kulich was there to cheer on his teammate.

Rousek even got a shoutout from the Americans after the goal.

And -- as is tradition -- the rookie had the rink to himself for a lap during warmups.

Certainly, an unforgettable moment for Rousek. And probably not one that Kulich and the rest of the Americans organization will forget anytime soon either.
