ARI@WSH: Ovechkin passes Howe to break record

Seven hundred eighty-seven goals. One team. Plenty of praise.
Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin passed Gordie Howe for the most goals scored for a single NHL team on Saturday. He did so with a rocket from the left circle, as he's done so many times before.

Capitals owner Ted Leonsis shared his feelings of having Ovechkin play for his team for the past 18 NHL seasons.

"Most goals ever with the same team. How blessed are we? Thank you Alex. History made again," Leonsis shared on social media.
The Capitals certainly kept the celebration going, sharing Ovechkin's mic'd up moment.

Later the team shared a celebratory shot from his first goal with the team and the most recent, side by side.

They even put out a highlight video from his 18 seasons on and off the ice.

Ovechkin is now 15 goals behind Howe for second place on the NHL career goals list.
