snowy challenge split

For the next big challenge to help raise money for ALS research, you won't even need an ice bucket.

It's called the Weak Side Strong Challenge and Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews, Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk and pretty much every employee of the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation are already on board.
Tkachuk played some left-handed billiards. Matthews decided to give left-handed tennis a try.

The annual staff hockey tournament for the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation was completely flipped -- right-handers played lefty and lefties played righty -- this year.

That's essentially what the challenge is: play a sport or complete a task with your weak hand, share the video and donate to ALS research.
The challenge was inspired by Flames assistant GM Chris Snow, who has been battling ALS for three years. In August of 2021, Snow threw out the ceremonial
first pitch at Fenway Park in Boston using his left hand
, as the disease has caused deterioration in his right arm, his natural throwing side.
At the website
Weaksidestrong.org
, Snow's children, Cohen and Willa, narrate a video explaining the Weak Side Strong challenge.
Snow's dedication to raise both money and awareness
in the battle against ALS
has inspired countless others.
This new challenge is in the same spirit of not only the ice bucket challenge, but the Trick Shots for Snowy campaign the Flames helped launch in 2020.
