"I didn't think this was nearly the hockey game the last one was, especially from our side," Flames coach Glen Gulutzan said of their 4-3 overtime win in Calgary on Saturday. "They took the play to us a little bit in the first two periods. We played a better third, but we have to play more than one period here on the road to get wins. Tonight, we can take the points ... but we've got to play a more complete game on the road."
Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane scored for the Blackhawks (24-21-8), who are 1-5-1 in their past seven home games and lost their first game in regulation to the Flames since Feb. 3, 2012 (10-0-7 over that span).
"I don't know what to say right now," Chicago captain Jonathan Toews said. "It's pretty frustrating. I thought we played pretty good hockey at times, had a lot of good chances. Should be able to find ways to win games even if we give up two or three. It's going to happen. You know pucks aren't going in, got to keep finding ways to work for our bounces. We can whine about two calls going upstairs and not going our way, but at the end of the day, we've got to keep working for results."
Stone scored with a high wrist shot from above the right face-off circle to put the Flames up 2-1 at 16:30 of the third. Calgary forward Johnny Gaudreau appeared to tip the shot, and the goal was upheld after video review showed the puck entered the net in a legal fashion.
"Big win for the team, I'm just happy the team got the win," Gaudreau said. "It was a great shot."

Monahan scored into an empty net with 1:09 remaining to make it 3-1 and extend his goal streak to three games.
Kane cut the Flames lead to 3-2 when he scored with seven seconds left.
Hamilton tied the game 1-1 at 1:10 of the second period when Monahan's pass went in off his skate on a 2-on-1.
The Blackhawks appeared to take a 2-1 lead at 4:53 of the second when Ryan Hartman went to the net and scored on the rebound of a Tomas Jurco shot. But Flames coach Glen Gulutzan challenged, and the goal was overturned after video review showed Hartman interfered with Smith.
"The puck's right there in my body and I'm just standing there and I get pulled over and the puck goes in the net," Hartman said. "I didn't lunge at the goalie, I didn't go into the goalie. I fell backwards, so I don't know."
DeBrincat put the Blackhawks up 1-0 at the 3:35 of the first period when he scored a power-play goal.
Chicago goalie Jeff Glass made 20 saves.
