Fantasy picks: Ride Patrick Marleau's hot streak

Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This lineup has been constructed with expensive and value picks and should be used as a basis for your roster decision-making.
C - Jack Eichel, BUF ($6,900)
Eichel has 47 shots on goal in 10 games since Jan. 5, second-most in the NHL behind Patrice Bergeron (49 in 11 games). The Buffalo Sabres center also has five goals, including two against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, three assists and five blocks in that span (4.7 DraftKings points per game). Eichel faces the Dallas Stars, whom he had two goals and 10 SOG against on Jan. 16.

C - Alexander Burmistrov, ARI ($3,300)
Burmistrov was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Coyotes from the Winnipeg Jets on Jan. 2. He was off the fantasy grid in 23 games with the Jets (no goals, two assists), but has thrived after a change in scenery with five assists, five blocks and four SOG in five games with the Coyotes. Burmistrov's low price, spot alongside Jamie McGinn at even strength and power-play exposure (second unit) give him a chance to return value against the Vancouver Canucks at home.
W - Nikolaj Ehlers, WPG ($5,700)
Rookie standout Patrik Laine has returned to Winnipeg's lineup, playing on a line with Ehlers and Bryan Little on Tuesday against the San Jose Sharks. Ehlers was held without a point against the Sharks, but previously had three straight games of at least 6.0 DraftKings points. He has been strong against the Chicago Blackhawks with three assists and three SOG in three games this season, and has 24 points in 26 road games.

W - Daniel Sedin, VAN ($5,400)
This season has been a bump in the road for veterans Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin, two of the most consistent point producers of the past decade. Daniel has been limited to 26 points and Henrik to 31, and we've passed the midseason point (the Canucks have played 48 games). But Daniel's shot volume remains strong (28 in past 10 games) and his shooting percentage (8.8) is bound for an eventual correction. That could come Thursday against the Coyotes, whom he has two points and 11 SOG in three games against this season. He's extremely affordable for such a proven goal scorer in a favorable matchup.
W - James Neal, NSH ($5,300)
Neal, limited to 39 of a possible 48 games this season because of injury, has underachieved when healthy for the Predators. That said, he's picking up steam with three goals, one assist and 15 SOG in his past four games on a line with mostly Mike Ribeiro, a pass-first center. Neal also plays on the power play with forwards Ryan Johansen, Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson. Five of his six power-play points have come at home, where he has 14 points and 61 SOG in 19 games (3.7 DraftKings points per game); the Predators host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.

D - P.K. Subban, NSH ($5,600)
It's only a matter of time before Subban scores his first point since returning from an upper-body injury on Jan. 20, and it could come against the Blue Jackets on Thursday before the defenseman heads to Los Angeles for the 2017 Honda NHL All-Star Game. Subban has been consistent from a DraftKings standpoint when healthy, averaging 3.1 DraftKings points per game at home and on the road. He has six blocks and nine SOG in three games since returning. Subban, who has scored seven of his 17 points with the man-advantage, is manning Nashville's first unit with Roman Josi sidelined.
D - Victor Hedman, TBL ($5,500)
Even after missing three games because of an illness, the Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman ranks third among defensemen in points with 38 in 46 games, trailing Brent Burns (51 in 49) and Erik Karlsson (39 in 46). Hedman is also tied for first among defensemen in PPP (18). In addition to being an elite scorer at the position, Hedman has five blocks and three SOG in two games since returning and multiple blocks in eight of his past 10. He's available for a $900 discount on Karlsson and a $2,700 discount on Burns, making him a good play against the Florida Panthers.

G - Thomas Greiss, NYI ($7,300)
Greiss is 3-0-1 in his past four games and 2-0-1 since the New York Islanders named Doug Weight coach on Jan. 17. The Islanders goalie has gained a ton of fantasy fame of late, but he's been reliable all season long with 6.0 DraftKings points per game in his past 10 and 5.3 on the season. His .927 save percentage ranks fifth in the NHL among goalies with at least 20 games played. Greiss, 8-4-1 at home, faces the Montreal Canadiens, who likely will be without center Alex Galchenyuk in addition to injured right wing Brendan Gallagher and defenseman Andrei Markov.
UTIL - Patrick Marleau, SJS ($5,000)
Marleau is enjoying a blast-from-the-past scoring stretch for the San Jose Sharks, and don't be surprised if it continues as he approaches the 500-goal milestone (498 in 1,460 NHL games). Marleau has a coveted spot on the top line and first power-play unit with Joe Pavelski and Joe Thornton, and has covered blocks (two) and SOG (10) in addition to scoring five goals in his past two games. The Sharks host the Edmonton Oilers, whom Marleau has 64 points in 74 career games against.
