Miller

ANAHEIM --Ryan Miller made 41 saves -- 24 in the third period -- for his third shutout of the season and 42nd of his NHL career, and the Anaheim Ducks extended their winning streak to a season-long four games with a 2-0 win against the Dallas Stars at Honda Center on Wednesday.
Ryan Getzlaf had a goal and an assist, and Hampus Lindholm also scored for the Ducks (31-20-11), who moved into third place in the Pacific Division, two points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings.

Ben Bishop made 15 saves for Dallas (34-22-4), which remains tied with the St. Louis Blues for third place in the Central Division.

It was the second straight shutout for the Ducks, who have not allowed a goal in 157:04. Anaheim defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 2-0 on Monday.
"We recognize where the season is at," Miller said. "Our game has been pretty good. We had a couple tough outings on the road and then we kind of got it together. It's been consistent for the last two weeks."
Miller was making his 15th start of the season in place of No. 1 goalie John Gibson, who sustained a lower-body injury late in the second period on Monday. Miller made 20 saves in the third period against Vegas.
On Wednesday, Miller made 13 saves during 5:57 of consecutive power-play time for the Stars that included 2:03 at 5-on-3.
"It was a gutsy job by our guys blocking shots. Our goaltender played phenomenal," Getzlaf said. "Those are turning points in hockey games for sure. When you have a full two minutes to kill a 5-on-3, it's not an easy task to ask."

Seventeen seconds after the 5-on-3 expired, and with the Stars still on the power play, Getzlaf beat Bishop to the puck as it skidded toward the net and scored a shorthanded goal at 4:28 for a 2-0 lead.
"Difficulty. Luck. Whatever you want to call it," Getzlaf said. "It was a great feeling, except I was celebrating by myself. I didn't know what to do."
The Ducks took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Lindholm at 13:15 of the first period.
Stars forward Antoine Roussel went to the penalty box for holding defenseman Cam Fowler. Anaheim quickly set up in the Dallas zone and Getzlaf took a shot from the left circle. Stars defenseman Dan Hamhuis was defending Ducks forward Corey Perry in front of the net and they appeared to screen Bishop.
The puck hit Bishop in the chest and caromed diagonally to Lindholm, who scored into the open side of the net eight seconds into the power play.
"That's a hard one because the rebound was right on the guy's stick," Dallas coach Ken Hitchcock said. "I thought the rest of the time we did a great job killing penalties."

"Our goaltender made the big stops when we had to. We blocked some shots. We cleared the puck and got lucky enough to get a break when we cleared the puck, and Getzlaf made a big-time play." -- Ducks coach Randy Carlyle
