There will be teddy bears on the ice in Edmonton this weekend. Some might even look like they're playing hockey.

Edmonton of the Western Hockey League dress up like stuffed animals when the Oil Kings wear some incredible bear-themed uniforms for their Teddy Bear Toss game against Kamloops on Saturday.

The lime-green jerseys feature a bear crest in the stylings of the Oil Kings alternate logo. The jersey's base resembles brown fur on the arms and body, and the team's socks will look like bear fur as well. The back of the jersey even has a tail.

"We wanted a jersey that stays true to who we are as a family brand while offering a completely different look that incorporates the teddy-bear theme," Daniel Troiani, Edmonton's director of business operations, told the Oil Kings website. "I feel our team has successfully achieved our goal, and we're really excited to share it with our fans."
Fans at Teddy Bear Toss games typically bring bears to toss on the ice after the home team's first goal, which led to (link)a world record number of bears(https://www.nhl.com/news/hershey-bears-set-record-with-teddy-bear-toss/c-302540120?tid=281396148) tossed at an American Hockey League game in Hershey on Sunday. The bears are donated to area charities after the game.
This is the 12th annual event in Edmonton, and the team collected and donated more than 14,000 bears in 2017. The uniforms also will be auctioned off, and all proceeds and bears will go to 630 CHED Santas Anonymous, a charity that seeks to collect Christmas toys for underprivileged children in Edmonton.
"Their team does amazing work in the Greater Edmonton area," Troiani said. "We're proud to have them as our charitable partner."
