Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Sunday for boarding Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vladislav Namestnikov on Saturday.
At 16:57 of the second period, Johnson cross-checked Namestinkov and received a two-minute minor for slashing, a five-minute major for boarding and a game misconduct. The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review. The Lightning won the game 6-5.
