Gritty spent his first Philadelphia Flyers Stanley Cup Playoff game entertaining some fellow furry friends at home.
The Flyers mascot officiated a game of puppies for Gritty's Pups on Ice that aired during the first and second intermission of Game 1 of the Eastern Conference First Round between the Flyers and Montreal Canadiens.
Gritty and the Flyers teamed up with Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society for a series of dog hockey games. Footage from the game will air during each intermission, and the Flyers will feature a standout puppy that can either be fostered or adopted.
Gritty had specific guidelines for how he'd ref the game, declaring "five for fighting, 15 for pooping." He had a relatively uneventful opening period but did call a penalty shot when one pup closed his jaw over the puck in the crease.
