The Philadelphia Flyers broke up the defense pairing of veteran Mark Streit and rookie Ivan Provorov. Streit will be reunited with Nick Schultz, his partner last season, and Provorov will skate with Brandon Manning. Provorov, the No. 7 pick at the 2015 NHL Draft, has one assist and a minus-5 rating while averaging 20:09 of ice time in four games. "I thought I played pretty good the first two games," Provorov said. "The second two I played OK. You can't go 82 games with playing all perfect games. You just have to limit the bad games." Coach Dave Hakstol said he's been impressed by the maturity Provorov, 19, has shown so far. "Like any young player, he's had his ups and downs," Hakstol said. "He handles things as we had hoped he would, really professionally. He's a good evaluator of his own game and has the mental maturity to process things. I'm very impressed with how he handles things." The Flyers also will have a new look to their third line, with Matt Read, who has a team-high four goals, moving from left wing to right wing to replace the suspended Dale Weise. Nick Cousins will play left wing, with Pierre-Edouard Bellemare at center. Despite three straight losses (0-2-1) after a season-opening victory at the Los Angeles Kings, the Flyers feel confident about their play. "I think it's the small things," forward Wayne Simmonds said. "Nothing big in our game. In every game we've been tied or had the lead. Just have to realize that when we do have the lead or it's a tie game, we've got to make sure we're playing smart with the puck and not having unnecessary turnovers and the team can go back the other way and capitalize."
