LAK@CGY: Dube cleans up Ryan's rebound

CALGARY -- Milan Lucic and Dillon Dube each had a goal and an assist to help the Calgary Flames to their fourth straight win, 4-3 against the Los Angeles Kings at Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday.

Sean Monahan and Zac Rinaldo scored, and Derek Ryan had two assists for the Flames (15-12-4), who are 5-0-1 in the past six games after going 0-5-1 in their previous six. Cam Talbot made 30 saves for his first win since Oct. 20.
"It says a lot about how we're playing and the confidence that we're playing with right now," Talbot said. "We know that if we get in a hole early we can battle it out, and you saw that tonight."

Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty each had a goal and an assist, and Jack Campbell made 26 saves for the Kings (11-18-2), who have lost four in a row and are winless in 11 consecutive road games (0-10-1).
"I think we've played really well at home and I still think we're playing well on the road," Campbell said. "Sometimes you've got to steal one 2-1 on the road, or 3-2, and get those big points in these tough buildings. I think we're playing well enough to win. Just needed a couple more saves tonight."

LAK@CGY: Lucic, backlund combine for PPG

The Flames trailed 2-0 before scoring four straight goals.
Lucic scored his 200th NHL goal on the power play to cut the lead to 2-1 at 18:14 of the first period. He has scored in consecutive games after going the first 27 games of the season without one.
"I think it's pretty cool, too, I scored my first goal and my 200th goal against the same team," Lucic said. "Nice to finally hit that milestone."
Rinaldo tied it 2-2 at 3:01 of the second period with his first goal in 20 games dating to Oct. 19, 2018 as a member of the Nashville Predators, and Johnny Gaudreau set up Monahan after an end-to-end rush to put Calgary up 3-2 at 11:46.
Dube scored on a rebound 1:29 into the third period to extend the lead to 4-2.
"When a young guy comes in and provides what he's been providing it sometimes re-energizes us older guys to play the way that we can," Lucic said of the 21-year-old Dube. "He's been huge for me."
Matt Roy made it 4-3 at 5:24 with a point shot through traffic.
Los Angeles, which had one power-play goal in the previous seven games, scored twice with the man-advantage in the first period.
Kopitar made it 1-0 at 11:09 with a shot short-side through a screen, and Doughty scored his first in 11 games from the high slot over Talbot's glove at 14:43 to push the lead to 2-0.
"This year we've played very well with the lead," Doughty said. "So after the first period, with that good start, we felt pretty comfortable in here, maybe too comfortable. We didn't push enough in the second. Maybe sat back a little bit too much and we allowed them back in the game. Then we were chasing after we got down 3-2, obviously."

They said it

"We're a hard team to play against when everyone's contributing. [Coach Geoff Ward] feels comfortable putting all lines out, and we were wearing them down tonight and we were getting a lot of O-zone time, which has been getting us so many chances." -- Flames forward Dillon Dube
"It's getting painful. You can't just expect scoring from one line. That's what's been happening. We need all the lines to score. One night it's [Anze Kopitar]'s line, one night it's [Jeff Carter]'s line, one night it's a different line. We need to have different lines scoring every single night. We haven't been able to do that right now. That's why we're losing." -- Kings defenseman Drew Doughty
