Kurtis MacDermid will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Friday.

The Los Angeles Kings defenseman is facing discipline for an illegal check to the head against Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at 14:29 of the second period during Los Angeles' 5-3 win at Staples Center. MacDermid was not penalized. Provorov completed the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
