"I haven't personally [talked with Chicago]," the 37-year-old said Wednesday. "No, not much to add to that. I'm sure we will, right? But the deadline's still weeks away, a month away. Still got a lot of time."
The trade deadline is March 21.
Fleury is in the final season of a three-year, $21 million contract ($7 million average annual value) he signed with the Vegas Golden Knights on July 13, 2018 and could be an unrestricted free agent. He said his focus remains on trying to win games for the Blackhawks (18-25-8), but a chance at a fourth Stanley Cup championship is obviously the goal if he is traded.
"If, if, I move, I would love a chance to win," Fleury said. "That's what I play for and that's what I love. But like I said, it's still a big if at this point."
A three-time Stanley Cup champion with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2009, 2016, 2017), Fleury said he'd like to play one more season in the NHL. He made 29 saves in a 1-0 shootout loss to the Dallas Stars on Friday and is 16-17-4 with a 2.80 goals-against average, .912 save percentage and four shutouts in 37 games for the Blackhawks, who are 12 points out of Stanley Cup Playoff position in the Western Conference.
"I don't have that much left, right? So enjoy this season and hopefully next season again," Fleury said. "After that, I don't know."
Though the Golden Knights are without No. 1 goalie Robin Lehner because of an upper-body injury, general manager Kelly McCrimmon told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Tuesday that there was "absolutely no credence" to a possible trade allowing Fleury to return to Vegas, where he played four seasons before being traded to Chicago on July 27.
"I wouldn't normally speak (officially) on such things," McCrimmon said. "But there will be so much racket about this, it's important to let people know that's not going to happen."
Fleury was 117-60-14 with a 2.41 GAA, .917 save percentage and 23 shutouts in 192 regular-season games after he was selected by the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft. He was 28-19 with a 2.25 GAA, .920 save percentage and six shutouts in 47 postseason games and helped Vegas reach the 2018 Stanley Cup Final, a five-game loss to the Washington Capitals. He was Lehner's backup when Vegas advanced to the 2020 Western Conference Final, a six-game loss to the Dallas Stars.
Last season, Fleury won the Vezina Trophy voted as the best goalie in the NHL after he was 26-10-0 with a 1.98 GAA, .928 save percentage and six shutouts in 36 games. The Golden Knights lost the Stanley Cup Semifinals to the Montreal Canadiens in six games.
