MIN@LAK: Anderson-Dolan cashes in on the power play

LOS ANGELES -- The Minnesota Wild lost to the Los Angeles Kings 4-0 at Staples Center on Tuesday in their first game since Feb. 2.

Minnesota had six games postponed during a two-week pause when it had as many as 13 players in the NHL COVID-19 protocol. The Wild's last game was a 2-1 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Feb. 2.
"We've been out for two weeks and we've got a lot of guys out of the lineup so you're playing with brand new guys again," Wild forward Marcus Foligno said. "You don't want to make excuses but it's tough."

Jonathan Quick made 28 saves for his first shutout of the season for the Kings (5-6-3). It was his 53rd NHL shutout and first against the Wild in 31 games.
"We started the game really strong," Quick said. "I think that first period we were clicking, getting pucks in, forechecking, making the play in their end, and we just kind of continued that play throughout the night."
Jaret Anderson-Dolan had a goal and an assist for Los Angeles, which is 2-0-1 in its past three following a four-game losing streak.
Kaapo Kahkonen made 25 saves for the Wild (6-6-0).
The Kings took a 1-0 lead on Anderson-Dolan's goal at 3:36 of the first period. He scored for the second straight game by putting a wrist shot into an open net from the left circle during a power play. Jeff Carter had an assist, his sixth point (one goal, five assists) in five games against the Wild.
It was Los Angeles' fifth power-play goal in its past three games.
"They eventually found their legs and skated themselves back into the game and it wasn't an easy night," Kings coach Todd McLellan said. "We needed some timely goals to put them out, but we're happy for a lot of individuals and for the team."

MIN@LAK: Moore lets a shot fly and buries it

Trevor Moore made it 2-0 at 12:03. The Kings got out on the rush and Moore was in the slot for a one-timer off a pass from Anderson-Dolan.
"We think we didn't even have one of our better games tonight, so just looking to keep getting better every game as a line and as a team as well and keep pushing forward here," said Anderson-Dolan, who sakted with Moore and Carl Grundstrom.
It was Anderson-Dolan's second straight multipoint game (two goals, two assists).
Dustin Brown made it 3-0 at 16:56 of the third period, his fifth point (three goals, two assists) during a three-game streak.

Drew Doughty scored an empty-net goal at 19:23 for the 4-0 final.
"Quick made some phenomenal saves, obviously, on some pucks that he couldn't find and stuck to 'em a little bit and played very well, but we had our chances to bury some opportunities and we didn't," Wild coach Dean Evason said. "We had an opportunity to win this hockey game and we didn't get it done."
