The defenseman, the son of Hockey Hall of Famer Chris Chelios, was recalled from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League to replace Jonathan Ericsson, who sustained a lower-body injury in a 5-4 overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday.
The Devils have won two straight games after losing 10 of the previous 12 (2-9-1) and will try for their first three-game winning streak since Dec. 27-31.

Devils forward Kenny Agostino has seven points (three goals, four assists) in his past nine games.
Red Wings forward Andreas Athanasiou needs one goal to join teammate Dylan Larkin with 30. Athanasiou has seven points (five goals, two assists) in his past six games.
