Shero NJD

Ray Shero signed a multiyear contract extension to remain general manager of the New Jersey Devils on Monday.

The Devils have reached the postseason once in Shero's four seasons. He was hired May 4, 2015, replacing Lou Lamoriello.
New Jersey went 31-41-10 this season and finished 15th in the Eastern Conference, 24 points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Devils were 44-29-9 last season and were the second Eastern wild card but were defeated in five games by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference First Round.
Prior to joining the Devils, Shero was GM of the Pittsburgh Penguins from 2006-14, winning the Stanley Cup in 2009.
