Sammy Blais signed a one-year, $1 million contract with the St. Louis Blues on Thursday.

The 26-year-old forward, who could have become an unrestricted free agent after the season, has three points (two goals, one assist) in nine games with St. Louis since he was reacquired in a trade with the New York Rangers on Feb 9 for forward Vladimir Tarasenko and defenseman Niko Mikkola.
Blais, who was traded to the Rangers for forward Pavel Buchnevich on July 23, 2021, had no goals and nine assists in 54 games with New York the past two seasons.
Selected by St. Louis in the sixth round (No. 176) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Blais has 47 points (19 goals, 28 assists) in 182 regular-season games and eight points (three goals, five assists) in 27 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Blais won the Stanley Cup with the Blues in 2019.
