Karlsson's quip-and-run to reporter hits snag with locked door

We are all Erik Karlsson.
The San Jose Sharks defenseman tried to look cool and it blew up right in his face.

In a postgame interview with SportsNet, Karlsson tried to fire a parting shot and make a quick exit, only to be defeated by a locked door.

After his interview with SportsNet's Shawn McKenzie, who thanked him for the time, Karlsson got cute saying "Oh! It's a pleasure!"
As the veteran defenseman walked away he grinned and said to MacKenzie "Hey, you look almost better than me." Karlsson broke for the door. McKenzie, after a beat, got out his response: "I'd say I have the lead."
Then, the nightmare struck.
Karlsson had no course of action but to face the music. McKenzie was able to bring down the hammer about how, at least, he is able to work a door.
Karlsson had no choice but to take the L. We've all been there. You'll get 'em next time, big guy.
