Matthew Tkachuk and TJ Brodie Calgary Flames

CALGARY-- Matthew Tkachuk and TJ Brodie of the Calgary Flames are likely to be out for the remainder of the season, each with an upper-body injury.
Tkachuk, a second-year forward, has missed seven games since he was injured against the New York Islanders on March 11. Brodie, a defenseman who has not skated since being injured against the Vegas Golden Knights on March 18, has missed four games.

Coach Glen Gulutzan said he doesn't anticipate either player returning this season.
"I'm not seeing that," he said Wednesday. "I'm not seeing that with what's going on. I wouldn't rule it out completely, but it's doubtful at this point. ... I don't foresee any of them back before the year's out."
Calgary (35-32-10), which has lost six straight games and was eliminated from Stanley Cup Playoff contention with a 3-0 loss at the Los Angeles Kings on Monday, has five games remaining, including its season finale against the Vegas Golden Knights on April 7.

Tkachuk is second on the Flames with 24 goals and third with 49 points; Brodie has 32 points (four goals, 28 assists) in 73 games, and is second to defenseman Mark Giordano in average time on ice with 23:40.
Calgary remains without forward Johnny Gaudreau, who leads the Flames with 82 points (23 goals, 59 assists). He is away from the team after returning home to New Jersey to be with his father, Guy Gaudreau, who had a cardiac event March 25.
"We're in contact with him every day, twice a day," Gulutzan said. "As far as everything there, I think it's on the real upswing, which is real positive for us and his family. We're continuing to make sure we're wishing them the best there.
"It's really family first there right now. If things get real good, we'll try to get Johnny back, but he needs to be there right now."
The Flames earlier shut down forwards Sean Monahan and Kris Versteeg for the season.
Monahan, who leads Calgary with 31 goals and is second with 64 points, will have wrist surgery. Versteeg hasn't played since March 18, his second game back after missing 49 because of hip surgery. He had eight points (three goals, five assists) in 24 games.
