The team has been playing well of late and own a 16-14-7-0 record. As a club, how has the season been?
"We're a really resilient team. We've been through some adversity together and we always stay positive in the locker room."
Individually, you were the AHL's Goaltender of the Week at one point this season and have played quite a bit. What can you say about the campaign for yourself personally?
"I think it's been OK. A lot of ups and downs but I've been able to stick to my game. I had a good outing in my last game (against the Texas Stars), so I just want to use that to keep going this season and as confidence moving forward."
When Cam Talbot was injured earlier in the season, you were called up to Edmonton for the time being. You didn't play in a game but what did you take from the time with the big club?
"It was a great experience. Just to go there and see how it all works. To see how a practice felt like. I never felt in over my head at all, which is good. It was just good to get to know the guys a little more and get comfortable up there."
Laurent Brossoit took the ball as the Oilers starter while Talbot was sidelined when you were with the Oilers. How's the relationship between you and Laurent?
"We have a really good working relationship. No issues or anything. I kind of just let him do his thing because he's a great goalie. I don't really need to talk to him a day before a game or anything, just let him do his thing. We have a good working relationship and we're there for each other and support each other."
There are three goalies here now with the team, meaning the starts will have to be spread out. How are you handling the situation?
"I just have to stay positive every day. Whenever you get into the net, just work as hard as you can. You got to take good advantage when you have the net and when you're playing. That's where my mind's at and just staying positive. It's a tough situation for everyone but it is what it is and you have to be a pro about it."
You got some new equipment this season and as many know, goalies like to personalize their gear. Any unique features of your mask or other pieces of equipment?
"Usually I like to keep my stuff pretty simple. My helmet just has the logos and a couple stripes. But on the back plate is kind of my personal thing with the Maryland crab like where I'm from. I also have my parents and brother on there but other than that I keep it pretty simple. Nothing on my pads or anything."
