Paul Fenton was named senior advisor to the general manager on Sept. 15, 2020.
Fenton possesses over 20 years of NHL front office experience. As a member of Florida’s front office, he helped Florida capture the organization’s first Stanley Cup in 2023-24.
The native of Springfield, Mass., spent 20 years with the Nashville Predators organization, joining the franchise upon its inception as the director of player personnel. Serving seven seasons in that role, Fenton was promoted to assistant general manager in 2006-07, a position he held until 2017-18. He also served as general manager of Nashville’s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals, for five seasons (2013-14 to 2017-18).
Prior to his experience with the Panthers, Fenton served as a scout for the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2019-20. He also worked as general manager of the Minnesota Wild (2018-19) and Team USA at the 2011 IIHF World Championship. He was director of player personnel for Team North America at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and was a professional scout (1993-94 to 1995- 96) and director of pro scouting (1996-97 to 1997-98) with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.
Undrafted, the Boston University alum played professional hockey for 11 years, including eight seasons in the NHL. He played 411 career NHL games for the Hartford Whalers (1984-85 to 1985-86), New York Rangers (1986- 87), Los Angeles Kings (1987-88 to 1988-89), Winnipeg Jets (1988-89 to 1990-91), Toronto Maple Leafs (1990-91), Calgary Flames (1990-91) and San Jose Sharks (1991-92), producing 183 points (100-83-183).
