Of the 518 players that filled out a ballot, 119 voted for Barkov.
Just a few games removed from becoming the all-time points leader for the Panthers, Barkov, who is in his 10th season in the NHL, has produced 63 points (18 goals, 53 assists) in 2022-23.
Taking home the Lady Byng Trophy in 2018-19 and the Selke Trophy in 2020-21, the 27-year-old center ranks 17th in the NHL in scoring since 2018-19 with 367 points, including scoring 138 goals.
Despite seemingly being unable to shed his longstanding underrated label, Barkov also finished third in voting in the NHLPA's annual poll for "Most Complete Player" with 17.1% of the vote.
Florida's leading scorer also got some love in the poll as Matthew Tkachuk, who's racked up 96 points (34 goals, 62 assists) during his first season in South Florida, received the third-most votes (8.8%) for the question that asked players to pick which player is best around the net.
Always playing with an edge, Tkachuk also finished fourth in voting (6%) for the question that asked players which player they hate playing against, but would love to have on their team.
Off the ice, 11.8% of players voted Sunrise as their favorite city to spend an off day in.
