Good morning and welcome to "Cats & Coffee," a weekly segment, presented by Koffee Kult, in which we serve up an exciting look at what's on deck for your Florida Panthers. Like our friends at Koffee Kult, this forecast serves up only the best -- so sit back, sip and enjoy our latest brew of news, notes and information.
Bill Zito is looking forward to seeing how all of his recent moves come together on the ice.
During a live "Chats with the Cats" segment with Territory Members last week, the Panthers general manager answered several questions about a wide variety of topics, including how the team has changed under his leadership, his excitement for the 2020-21 season and much more.

"Now that we've gotten through the draft and are a significant portion of the way through the agency, now we can start looking toward the fun part, which is playing hockey, building a team, getting the team together," Zito said. "I'm really looking forward to that."
Since being hired as general manager in September, Zito, who had spent the previous seven seasons working as an assistant general manager in Columbus, has managed to shake up the roster in a very short amount of time, bringing in seven players through trades and free agency. Asked about these moves, he said the team's newest players all have one thing in common.
"They're guys that want to win," Zito said emphatically. "They're guys that care and will do everything they can with their power with what they bring to the game to contribute."

Chats with the Cats: Bill Zito

      SUPPORTING THE FOUNDATION

There's plenty of ways to support the Florida Panthers Foundation right now.
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, fans can currently purchase special hockey-themed Día de los Muertos t-shirts. Additionally, there are also several mystery pucks still available. These cool pucks could potentially be signed by one of several Panthers, including Aleksander Barkov.

      NHL 21 HAS ARRIVED

The latest installment of EA Sport's NHL series has arrived!
To kick off the launch of NHL 21 last week, we decided to give away a few download codes of the game on our gaming twitter account, @FlaPanthersGame. Miss out? No worries! We'll be doing more giveaways this week and in the future both on twitter and at
      Twitch.tv/FlaPanthers
      .
In the meantime, check out some of the new digital action in the clip below.

      BURRRRRRR-KOV

Aleksander Barkov would normally be in South Florida right now.
Instead, he's somewhere a little bit colder.
On Monday morning, the Panthers captain posted a hilarious photo of himself training on a snowy afternoon in his Finland. Joined by his good friend and Winnipeg Jets forward Patrik Laine, Barkov cheekily captioned the photo with "Nice weather to train. Nice company too."

Like the rest of us, I'm sure Barkov can't wait to get back to both the beach and BB&T Center!

      CATS CLIP OF THE WEEK

The Panthers rolled out the red carpet for Carter Verhaeghe.

      TERRITORY TALK

The Panthers went shopping on the opening day of the NHL's free agency period. On last week's episode of the Territory Talk podcast, Panthers general manager Bill Zito discussed each of the team's new acquisitions, including high-upside forward Cater Verhaeghe, who also sat down with co-hosts Doug Plagens and Jameson Olive during his first visit to BB&T Center.
