The Florida Panthers enter this week looking to pick up some much-needed points.
Sitting at 16-18-4, the Panthers will host the Arizona Coyotes on Tuesday before hitting the road for games against the Detroit Red Wings and Dallas Stars on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
With 44 games left to play, players are still itching to go on the type of run they know they are capable of.
"Just continue to do the right things on a daily basis," Panthers defenseman Aaron Ekblad said after Monday's practice at FLA Live Arena. "Preparing and working hard is what you can control, and controlling what you can control is obviously extremely important. We're trying to control our work ethic, prepare the best we can -- the coaches do a great job with that -- and trying to build momentum."
To see what's going on this week and beyond for the Panthers, continue reading below.

THE GAMES

Tuesday: Arizona Coyotes, 7 p.m. ET
The Panthers will close out their homestand with a matchup against the Coyotes (13-17-5) on Tuesday at FLA Live Arena. Finding their footing early in December, the Coyotes have won six of their last 11 games, but enter this week on the heels of a 5-3 loss at Tampa Bay on Saturday. Prior to that loss, they'd beaten the Kings, Avalanche and Maple Leafs by a combined score of 14-7. Clayton Keller leads Arizona in scoring with 34 points (13 goals, 21 assists), while Lawson Crouse, a first-round pick of the Panthers in 2015, leads the team in goals with 14. Tightening his grip on the No. 1 job in net, Karel Vejmelka has gone 11-10-4 with a .907 save percentage. In their first meeting this season, Vejmelka made 41 saves to lead the Coyotes to a 3-1 win over the Panthers. This time around, look for Carter Verhaeghe to get one past Vejmelka if he gets the nod in net. In 37 games in 2022-23, Verhaeghe has scored a team-high 18 goals.

Friday: at Detroit Red Wings, 7 p.m. ET
Facing off in an important divisional matchup, the Panthers will open their road trip with a battle against the Red Wings (16-12-7) at Little Caesars Arena on Friday. Shaking off a six-game losing streak, Detroit enters this week with three wins in its last four games, including a 4-2 win over the Senators on Saturday. In their previous matchup with Florida, the Red Wings were held to just 20 shots on goal in a 5-1 loss at FLA Live Arena on Dec. 8. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit in goals (13), assists (19) and points (32). Also chipping in, Dominik Kubalik and David Perron have each lit the lamp 12 times. With the Red Wings dealing with injuries in net, Magnus Hellberg has started each of the last three games, posting a 2-1-0 record with a .908 save percentage. After notching a goal and an assist in their first meeting this season, look for Matthew Tkachuk, who's racked up 43 points (17 goals, 26 assists) in 2022-23, to be very active up front again for the Panthers.

Sunday: at Dallas Stars, 1 p.m. ET
Closing out the week with a matinee in the Lone Star State, the Panthers will visit the Stars (23-9-6) at American Airlines Center on Sunday. First in the Central Division, Dallas has won each of its last four games, including a 5-2 win over the Sharks on Saturday. During their winning streak, they've outscored the opposition 16-7. With the Stars ranking third in the NHL on offense (3.61 goals per game), Jason Robertson, an early-season candidate for the Hart Trophy, leads the team in scoring with 54 points (25 goals, 29 assists). Second to Robertson, Roope Hintz has produced 42 points (19 goals, 23 assists). Starting each of the last six games, Jake Oettinger owns a 17-5-3 record with a .921 save percentage this season. For the Panthers, look for Aleksander Barkov to touch the twine in his tilt. In 18 career matchups against the Stars, Barkov has scored 12 goals, including the first goal of his NHL career all the way back on Oct. 3, 2013.
