The Panthers return home this week sitting atop the NHL's standings.
Picking up three out of possible four points on the road, the team capped off its successful two-game trip with an exhilarating 4-3 overtime win over the Hurricanes at PNC Arena on Saturday.

"I thought we responded tonight," said forward Carter Verhaeghe, who potted a pair of goals in the win. "Back home, we definitely use the fans to our advantage there. They're awesome there and really cheer us on. Tonight, we grinded it out, got off to a good start and just kept rolling."
Like Verhaeghe said, the atmosphere at FLA Live Arena has been something else as of late.
Sitting pretty at 23-7-5 on the season, the Panthers have posted an outstanding 18-3-0 mark at home, including coming out on top in each of their last four games in Sunrise. During that torrid four-game stretch, they scored 24 goals to push their league-leading goal total at home to 93.
With a chance to keep filling up the back of the net, the Panthers will open up a three-game homestand with a matchup against the Canucks on Tuesday. After that, they'll wrap up their season series with the Stars on Friday and then battle against the Blue Jackets on Saturday.
From those games to a ¡Vamos Gatos! broadcast, check below to see what's in store this week.

THE GAMES

Tuesday: Vancouver Canucks, 7 p.m. ET
The Panthers will kick off their homestand with a matchup against the surging Canucks (16-15-3) at FLA Live Arena on Tuesday. On quite the roll in recent weeks, Vancouver has won 10 of its last 12 games, including a 5-2 win at Seattle in their last outing on Jan. 1. In that stretch, the Canucks have outscored their opponents 36-21. J.T. Miller leads the team in scoring with 36 points (11 goals, 25 assists), while Quinn Hughes sits in second with 28 points (two goals, 26 assists). Earning at least one point in each of his last nine games, Miller has tallied three goals and 10 assists in that span. Between the pipes, Thatcher Demko has posted an 15-11-1 record with a .920 save percentage, including going 7-0-0 over his last seven starts. Looking to put a few behind Demko, Anthony Duclair has been carrying a hot stick for the Panthers. Tied for the team-lead in goals with 14, he's found the back of the net five times over his last six contests.

Friday: Dallas Stars, 7 p.m. ET
Closing the book on their season series, the Panthers will host the Stars (17-13-2) at FLA Live Arena on Friday.
Despite entering this week on the heels of a 2-1 loss at St. Louis on Sunday, Dallas has picked up wins in four of its last five games, including squeezing out a 6-5 shootout win over the Panthers on Jan. 6. Tied for first on the Stars in scoring, Joe Pavelski and Jason Robertson have each amassed 30 points. Always taking his game up a notch in this matchup, Robertson has produced nine points (six goals, three assists) in nine career games against the Cats. In net, both goaltenders have been playing well for Dallas. Jake Oettinger has gone 8-2-0 with a .923 save percentage, while Braden Holtby is 6-8-1 with a .920 save percentage. Looking for a bit of a revenge, Jonathan Huberdeau should crack the scoresheet in this game for Florida. Leading the team in scoring with 46 points (13 goals, 33 assists), he's recorded 13 points (three goals, 10 assists) over his last five contests, including racking up two points in Dallas last week.

Saturday: Columbus Blue Jackets, 6 p.m. ET
Closing out their three-game defense of FLA Live Arena, the Panthers will host the Blue Jackets (16-16-1) on Saturday. After dropping three straight games, Columbus closed out last week with a 4-3 win over the Devils on Saturday. Struggling mightily on the defensive side of the puck, the Blue Jackets currently rank 28th in the NHL in average goals allowed per game (3.55) and have given up at least seven goals in two of their last four outings. Up front, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Jakub Voracek are tied for first on the team in scoring with 25 points each, while Boone Jenner ranks third with 21 points, including a team-best 13 goals. Heating up coming into this week, look for Carter Verhaeghe to drive play for the Panthers in this contest. In seven career games against Columbus, he's amassed six points.

PROSPECT SPOTLIGHT

Kirill Gerasimyuk has been standing on top of his head overseas.
Manning the crease for SKA-1946 in Russia's MHL, the 18-year-old goalie has posted an 11-0-0 record with a 1.63 goals-against average, a .937 save percentage and two shutouts this season.

Taken by the Panthers in the fifth round (152nd overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, Gerasimyuk also posted a 2-3-0 record behind a .913 save percentage during a brief stint in the VHL last season.
"He's a technical goalie, very competitive," Panthers general manager Bill Zito said at the draft. "He's very technical. If you talk to Roberto [Luongo], that's probably the first thing he'll point to."
