SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zitoannounced today that forward Anton Levtchi has agreed to terms on a one-year, entry-level contract commencing in the 2022-23 season.
"Anton is one of the most potent scoring forwards in European hockey," said Zito. "He demonstrated his skill level during his outstanding campaign with Tappara this season and we look forward to him joining our organization."
Levtchi, 26, led all Liiga skaters with 61 points (26-35-61) over 55 regular season games with Tappara Tampere in 2021-22. His 26 goals tied for the league lead and his 35 assists ranked second. Following the campaign, Liiga skaters voted Levtchi as the league's most valuable player, earning the Liiga 'Golden Helmet.' In the Liiga postseason, Levtchi tied for second-most points on Tappara with 10 (1-9-10) over 14 games en route to the club's 18th league championship.
The 6-foot, 185-pound native of Varkaus, Finland has appeared in 252 career games (2016-17 to 2021-22) with Tappara, compiling 176 points (59-117-176). He has also registered 16 points (4-12-16) over 34 career Liiga postseason contests.
Undrafted, Levtchi has led Tappara in points in each of the last two seasons and earned a Liiga Bronze Medal in 2018-19 and Silver Medal in 2017-18.
