SUNRISE, Fla. -The Florida Panthers announced today that in partnership with Baptist Health Cancer Care, the club will host its annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night on Saturday, Nov. 12 when the Panthers host the Edmonton Oilers at 4 p.m. Hockey Fights Cancer™, a joint initiative of the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association is now in its 24th year.
"We are honored to present our annual Hockey Fights Cancer night working with Baptist Health Cancer Care to raise funds and awareness for cancer research," said Panthers Chief Revenue Officer Shawn Thornton. "Throughout the night, we want to honor and support all who have been touched by cancer along with the doctors and medical professionals for their research and commitment for finding a cure for this terrible disease."

The Panthers will honor U.S. Navy veteran and cancer survivor Maria-Victoria Charles as their 'Heroes Among Us' honoree that night. Maria served from 1984-1994 as an Electronic Technician in support of carriers, destroyers, and radars in preparation for Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. She currently volunteers at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center Cancer Center to give back to those who are currently fighting cancer.
All fans in attendance at the Nov. 12 game will receive purple glow thunder sticks courtesy of Baptist Health Cancer Care. Fans are also invited to fill out 'I Fight For' cards on the JetBlue Tarmac and inside main doors at FLA Live Arena to share their stories.
Additionally, Baptist Health Cancer Care will have a 'Beat Cancer' activation on the JetBlue Tarmac pregame to increase cancer awareness and provide fun games and activities for fans before the game.
As part of the Panthers Stoli Saturday's promotion, Stoli will offer a specialty purple cocktail on the CITY Lounge by CITY Furniture, Club Stoli, Stoli Bars and Coors Light Cold Zone.
