The 6-foot, 185-pound native of St. Albert, Alberta has skated in 79 total NHL games with Anaheim from 2018-19 to 2021-22, registering 20 points (6-14-20). He has also appeared in 112 career American Hockey League (AHL) with the San Diego Gulls from 2018-19 to 2020-21, logging 60 points (11-49-60). He was named a AHL Pacific Division All-Star in 2020-21 during a campaign where he led Gulls blueliners in assists and points (6-14-20).
Prior to his professional career, Mahura skated in four seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) between the Red Deer Rebels (2014-15 to 2016-17) and Regina Pats (2016-17 to 2017-18), amassing 131 points (41-90-131) over 186 games. He led Regina defensemen in goals, assists and points in his final campaign, registering 69 points (22-47-69) over 60 games. Mahura was also named to the Memorial Cup All-Star Team in 2017-18.
On the international stage, Mahura helped Canada secure a gold medal at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, scoring one goal across four tournament contests.
Mahura was originally selected by Anaheim in the third round (85th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Additionally, the Panthers have assigned seven players to the Charlotte Checkers (AHL): forwards Aleksi Heponiemi, Logan Hutsko, Gerry Mayhew and Chris Tierney, defensemen Lucas Carlsson and Michael Del Zotto, and goaltender Alex Lyon.
