SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Dale Tallon confirmed today that Ben Cooper has been named Assistant Coach, Video on Head Coach Bob Boughner's staff. Cooper will work alongside Boughner, Associate Coach Jack Capuano, Assistant Coach Paul McFarland, Goaltending Coach Robb Tallas and Strength & Conditioning Coach Tommy Powers on the Panthers 2017-18 coaching staff.

"Ben is a talented, hard-working young coach who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our coaching staff," Boughner said. "Our completed coaching staff possesses a valuable mix of experience and modern insight that will serve us well as we compete toward our goal of bringing the Stanley Cup to South Florida."
Cooper, 40, joins the Florida Panthers from the Vancouver Canucks organization where he served as Assistant Coach, Video for three seasons from 2014 to 2017. Prior to joining the Canucks, Cooper served as an assistant coach with the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League from 2011-2013, as a Video Manager for the Canadian Men's National Team from 2008-2011 and as a Video Coach for the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League from 2005-2008.
Serving as Video Manager for Hockey Canada on the international stage, Cooper has been a part of coaching staffs that helped guide Canada to gold medal victories at the Olympic Winter Games in 2010 and at the World Junior Championships in 2009.
