Hunt, 21, has recorded eight points (5-3-8) in 13 games with Springfield in 2017-18. He ranks second among Thunderbirds players in goals (5) and shots (38), and is tied for second in power-play goals (2).
The 6-foot, 197-pound native of Cranbrook, British Columbia, posted 31 points (13-18-31) in 70 games with Springfield as a rookie in 2016-17 and registered two goals in a two-game stint with the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL).
Undrafted, Hunt was signed as a free agent by Florida on March 2, 2016.
In 72 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League during the 2015-16 season, Hunt led the league with 58 goals and tallied 116 points, ranking him second in the WHL for points. For his efforts, Hunt received the 2016 Four Broncos Trophy, awarded to the WHL's Player of the Year.
