SUNRISE, Fla. -- Four prospects in the Florida Panthers system have been named to rosters to compete in the 2023 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Junior Championship from Monday, Dec. 26 to Thursday, Jan. 5 in Halifax and Moncton, Nova Scotia.

Four Panthers Prospects Named to 2023 World Junior Championship Rosters
Alscher, 18, has skated in 26 games with the Portland Winterhawks (WHL) in 2022-23, producing 11 points (6-5-11). Over two seasons (2021-22 to 2022-23) with Portland, Alscher has amassed 27 points (13-14-27) over 87 WHL games.
The 6-foot-3, 196-pound native of Slany, Czechia previously represented his country at the 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, logging one assist over four tournament games. He was originally selected by the Panthers in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
Jansson, 18, has skated in 25 games with Södertälje SK of HockeyAllsvenskan in 2022-23, posting six points (1-5-6). Over three seasons (2020-21 to 2022-23) with Södertälje, Jansson has recorded 13 points (4-9-13) across 92 games. His five points (2-3-5) last season ranked seventh among under-20 defensemen in the league.
Selected by Florida in the fourth round (125th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, the 6-foot, 176-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden previously represented his country at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship in August, skating in four tournament games. He also appeared in three other international games with Sweden's U20 team in 2021-22, producing one goal.
Kos, 19, has played in 15 games with KOOVEE in Finland's second league, Mestis, in 2022-23, logging nine points (2-7-9). Across two seasons (2021-22 to 2022-23) in Mestis with KOOVEE, Kos has posted 25 points (5-20-25) in 35 games. He also produced three points (1-2-3) over 17 games with Ilves in Finland's top league, Liiga, in 2021-22.
Selected by Florida in the sixth round (184th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft, the 6-foot-2, 174-pound native of Kurim, Czechia represented his country at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship where he registered one assist over seven tournament games. He also skated for Czechia at the 2021 IIHF U18 World Championship, producing two points (1-1-2) over five games.
Vilmanis, 18, is in his first season in the Ontario Hockey League with the Sarnia Sting, where he has produced 24 points (11-13-24) over 29 games. His 11 goals rank third on the club. Vilmanis previously played in 40 games with Lulea HF's U20 team in 2021-22, where he tied for the club lead with 18 goals and ranked third with 32 points (18-14-32).
Selected by Florida in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft, the 6-foot-1, 192-pound native of Riga, Latvia represented his country at the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship where he notched one assist across five tournament games. He also skated in four games with Latvia at the 2022 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship, where he posted three points (1-2-3) and served as an assistant captain.
