Florida Panthers 2016 first round pick, Henrik Borgstrom has taken the college hockey world by storm this season for the University of Denver. The 19-year old freshman has recorded a team-leading 16 points (8-8-16) in 14 games with the Pioneers and was recently named NCHC rookie of the week after recording a five-point weekend (2-3-5), Nov. 25-26.

The Helsinki, Finland native's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed as he was recently named to the preliminary roster for Team Finland's World Junior Championship squad.

Saturday night was also Teddy Bear Toss at the MassMutual Center. Acolatse's fourth goal of the season opened the heavens and the bears rained down in Springfield

In six games with the T-Birds this season, Sgarbossa has recorded six points (3-3-6). The Campbellville, Ont., native enters the week on a four-game point streak, recording two goals and three assists in the four-game span.

MEANWHILE IN KITCHENER…

Panthers 2016 second rounder, Adam Mascherin continues to tear up the Ontario Hockey League. The Kitchener Rangers forward reached the 20 goal mark on Dec. 3, and then quickly added his 21st goal of the season soon afterwards. His two-goal night against the Ottawa 67's marked his second consecutive two-goal performance. His second goal of the evening was done in style, as he notched the OT game-winner.
After the two goal game on Saturday, he now enters the week on a 12-game point streak, recording seven multi-point games and three multi-goal games in that 12-game span.

COLLEGE CATS

• Panthers 2015 fifth round pick Karch Bachman scored his first college career goal for Miami University this past weekend against Cornell.

• With 10 points (2-8-10) in 18 games for St. Lawrence, Benjamin Finkelstein leads all Saints freshmen in scoring. On Dec. 3 vs. Dartmouth, Finkelstein recorded a goal and an assist to help lead St. Lawrence to a 5-1 win.
