SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward William Lockwood on a two-year, two-way contract.

Lockwood, 25, appeared in 43 American Hockey League (AHL) games in 2022-23 with the Abbotsford Canucks and the Hartford Wolf Pack producing 30 points (17-13-30). He appeared in 13 games for the Vancouver Canucks during the 2022-23 season.

The 5-foot-11, 172-pound native of Royal Oak, MI has skated in 113 career AHL games with the Utica Comets (2020-21), Abbotsford Canucks (2021-22 & 2022-23) and Hartford Wolf Pack (2022-23) recording 66 points (30-36-66).

Prior to his professional career, Lockwood played four seasons in the NCAA at the University of Michigan from 2016-17 to 2019-20. He captained the team in his senior year, ranking second on the team in points (9-14-23). In his junior season, he was named the Big 10 First Star of the Week on February 18, 2019.

On the international stage, Lockwood represented the United States at the 2016 IIHF U18 World Junior Championship, amassing seven points (1-6-7) and capturing the bronze medal. He won a bronze medal at the 2018 World Junior Championship.

Lockwood was originally selected by Vancouver in the third round (64th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft.
