Four rounds of #NHLStats as the Panthers return to the playoffs after reaching the Stanley Cup Final as a Wild Card last year:
- The Panthers will look to become the fourth different team in the last 20 years to make the Stanley Cup Final in consecutive seasons. The others include the Lightning (3 from 2020-22), Penguins (2 from 2008 – 2009 & 2016 – 2017) and the Red Wings (2008 – 2009).
- Aleksander Barkov is the all-time leader in postseason assists (26), points (37) and games played (47 GP) for the Panthers, who are on pace to enter the playoffs occupying a much higher seed when compared to last season. Barkov is one of 14 current Florida players (min 1. GP in 2023-24) who dressed at least one postseason game with the Panthers in 2023.
- In addition to Barkov, Brandon Montour, Sam Reinhart, Aaron Ekblad and Sergei Bobrovsky also top at least one of the franchise’s all-time playoff lists. Meanwhile, Matthew Tkachuk, who only joined the club ahead of the 2022-23 season, already ranks third in playoff points in franchise history and is tied for second in goals after recording 11-13—24 (20 GP) in 2023.
- Carter Verhaeghe, who is the franchise’s all-time leader in playoff goals (15), won a Stanley Cup as a rookie with the Lightning in 2020. Verhaeghe and Vladimir Tarasenko (2019 STL), one of several notable additions to the team after they reached the 2023 Stanley Cup Final, are the only Cup winners on the Panthers’ current roster.

More #NHLStats:
- Paul Maurice has the most career regular-season games among NHL head coaches without a Stanley Cup as well as the sixth most playoff contests without a championship behind Pat Quinn, Alain Vigneault, Peter DeBoer, Lindy Ruff and Billy Reay.
- Aleksander Barkov (Tampere, Finland) can become the first Finnish-born player in League history to captain a Stanley Cup-winning team. The only NHL players born and trained outside North America to do so are Gabriel Landeskog (2022 COL), Alex Ovechkin (2018 WSH), Zdeno Chara (2011 BOS) and Nicklas Lidstrom (2008 DET).
- After securing the final Wild Card spot with 92 points last season, the Panthers can become the second team to make the playoffs (format of at least 16 teams) with the highest point total in the League after clinching a spot with the lowest among all teams the campaign prior (tied or outright), joining the Predators who did so from 2017 (94 points) to 2018 (119 points).
- The Panthers can become the seventh team in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup after losing the Final the year prior and just the third in the expansion era (since 1967-86) following the Penguins (lost in 2008 & won in 2009) and Oilers (lost in 1983 & won in 1984).
