SUNRISE, Fla. - Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations Dale Tallon announced today that the Panthers have recalled forward Paul Thompson from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds.
The 28-year old Thompson has recorded a team-leading 15 points (6-9-15) in 20 games this season with the Thunderbirds. His six goals and nine assists lead Springfield, while he also ranks first on the team with three power play goals and 64 shots.
The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Methuen, N.H., has played in three career NHL games, all with the New Jersey Devils (2015-16). An alum of the University of New Hampshire (2007-11), Thompson has recorded 177 points (91-86-177) in 349 career AHL games.
