In order to understand why Aleksander Barkov deserves to be voted as one of the "Last Men In" for the 2022 NHL All-Star Game, you don't need to spend countless hours scanning through various statistics.
All you need is a set of eyeballs.
"All you have to do is watch a game and then you'll see why he deserves to be in the All-Star Game," forward Sam Bennett said. "Every single game he proves he's an all-star and does something special."
That being said, the statistics are certainly a nice cherry on top.
Despite being limited to just 24 games due to injuries, the Panthers captain is tied for the team-lead in goals (15) and also tied for fifth in points (28). A model of consistency, he's tallied at least one point in all but four games this season and enters Saturday's matchup with Columbus on a four-game point streak.
The reigning Selke Trophy winner, he also ranks first on the team with 56.1% success rate in the circle.
"He's awesome," linemate Carter Verhaeghe said. "I can't say enough good things about him."
