Penguins games on AT&T SportsNet had a 5.81 rating. Other teams in the top five were Buffalo, St. Louis, Minnesota and Boston.
The Pens have led the league in local ratings for seven of the past nine years (and were second in the other two years).
As an aside, the Penguins more than tripled their regular-season mark with a 19 rating for the team's first-round playoff series against the Flyers.
In addition, NBC Sports PR announced that the Pittsburgh market led all U.S. markets in ratings for all NHL playoff games during the first round on NBC and affiliate stations. Pittsburgh led with a 2.5 rating for all NHL playoff games, followed by Buffalo, Nashville, Boston and Providence.
