Nashville, Tenn. (March 8, 2024) – Nashville Predators General Manager Barry Trotz announced today that the team has acquired forward Jason Zucker (ZUH-kuhr) from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for the Dallas Stars’ sixth-round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Zucker, 32 (1/16/92), is skating in his 13th career NHL season and had 25 points (9g-16a) in 51 games with the Coyotes in 2023-24. The 5-foot-11, 192-pound forward recorded his sixth multi-point game of the season on Sunday at Washington (1g-1a) and has scored four power-play goals, his most since notching five in 2019-20 with Minnesota. Zucker has also added five power-play assists and 74 hits in 14:02 of average ice time.
Originally drafted by Minnesota in the second round (59th overall) of the 2010 NHL Draft, Zucker is a veteran of 679 career games since making his League debut with the Wild in 2011-12 and owns 363 points (191g-172a). A six-time 20-goal scorer, he recorded 48 points (27g-21a) with Pittsburgh last season – his most since tallying a career-high 64 (33g-31) in 2017-18 – and added nine power-play points (2g-7a) and five game-winning goals. Zucker has 46 games of Stanley Cup Playoffs experience, recording 15 points (8g-7a) across nine postseason series. He won the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in 2018-19, which is given to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community.
Internationally, the Newport Beach, Calif., native has represented the United States on several occasions, winning three gold medals at the 2010 World Junior Championship and 2009-10 U-18 World Championship. Zucker spent two seasons at the University of Denver from 2010-12, where he was named to the All-WCHA Second Team twice.
