He was diagnosed with a blood clot in his right arm following the Rangers' game on Dec. 27, 2017 vs. Washington, and he underwent rib resection surgery on Jan. 7, 2018. After missing 24 games due to injury, Kreider returned to the Rangers' lineup on Feb. 23, 2018 vs. Minnesota, and he has registered 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in 15 games since returning to the lineup. In addition, he has worn an 'A' and has served as one of the Rangers' alternate captains in each of the last four games, dating back to Mar. 20, 2018 vs. Columbus.
