Several Rangers from Thursday night's contest will play tonight, including Nathan Gerbe, Michael Grabner and Jimmy Vesey, while NIcklas Jensen and Maxime Lapierre will play in their third straight game as Vigneault continues to evaluate his options heading into the regular season. 2015 second-round pick Ryan Gropp will appear in his first career NHL preseason game, and is penciled in on the fourth line with Lapierre and Chris Brown.
Defenseman John Gilmour will get another look after picking up a power play goal and later adding a power play assist Thursday night. Adam Clendening, who had a pair of assists in the exhibition opener Tuesday against the Islanders, will also get another crack at making the case to be among the Rangers defensive group come Oct. 13. Dan Girardi, Brady Skjei, Mathew Bodie and Michael Paliotta round out the remaining defensemen.
Antti Raanta, who allowed one goal in 33 minutes Thursday night, will get the start, with Magnus Hellberg serving as the backup. Hellberg started Tuesday's game against the Islanders and allowed one goal in 29:35.
The Rangers made two cuts on Friday, sending goaltenders Brandon Halverson and Jeff Malcolm to Hartford.
