Three Stars of the Week
Sergey Zborovskiy, D, Regina Pats (WHL) - Zborovskiy registered seven assists/points and a plus-eight rating in four games during the week. The Rangers' third round pick (79th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft extended his assist/point streak to five games during the week, and he posted a multi-point game in each of the five contests (three goals, 13 assists over the span). Zborovskiy has tallied a point in 21 of the 26 WHL games he has played in 2016-17 (six goals, 26 assists), and he has posted a plus-two rating or better in 15 of the 26 contests.
Zborovskiy has already established WHL career-highs in assists (26) and points (32) this season. He leads the WHL in plus/minus rating this season (plus-47), and he is tied for third among WHL defensemen in points per game (1.23). In addition, he is tied for second among WHL defensemen in assists and is tied for fifth among WHL defensemen in points in 2016-17.
Brad Morrison, C, Prince George Cougars (WHL) - Morrison tallied a point in each of Prince George's three games during the past week, recording four points (three goals, one assist) in those contests. The Rangers' fourth round pick (113th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has recorded six points (four goals, two assists) in the last six games and 31 points (13 goals, 18 assists) in 31 games in 2016-17. Morrison is tied for the team lead in game-winning goals (five), ranks second on the Cougars in goals (13) and assists (18), and is tied for second in points (31) this season.
Igor Shesterkin, G, SKA St. Petersburg (KHL) - Shesterkin posted a 2-0-0 record, along with a 0.96 GAA and a .963 SV% (52 saves on 54 shots) during the week. The Rangers' fourth round pick (118th overall) in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft has posted a 22-1-0 record, along with a 1.33 GAA, a .950 SV%, and 7 SO in his last 24 KHL appearances. In 30 KHL appearances in 2016-17, Shesterkin has posted a 25-2-1 record, along with a 1.51 GAA, a .943 SV%, and 8 SO. He leads the KHL in SO, is tied for third in GAA, and ranks fourth in SV% this season.
Emerging from the Pack
Mat Bodie registered two points (one goal, one assist) on Dec. 10 against Toronto. The Wolf Pack captain has tallied 13 points (five goals, eight assists) this season, as Bodie leads Hartford defensemen in goals and is tied for first among team defensemen in points in 2016-17.

Sean Day, D, Windsor Spitfires (OHL) - Day registered an assist, posted a plus-three rating, and recorded eight shots on goal on Dec. 8 at Barrie. The Rangers' third round pick (81st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has recorded a point in 14 of 25 OHL games this season, registering 19 points (10 goals, nine assists). Day ranks second among OHL defensemen in goals this season (10).
Tim Gettinger, LW, Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds (OHL) - Gettinger tallied a point in two of Sault Ste. Marie's three games during the week (one goal, one assist). The Rangers' fifth round pick (141st overall) has recorded a point in eight of the last 11 games (and has posted four multi-point games in the eight contests), registering 13 points (seven goals, six assists) and a plus-11 rating over the span. Gettinger has recorded 18 points (10 goals, eight assists) in his last 19 games, and he has registered 72 shots on goal over the span (3.8 shots on goal per game). He ranks third on the team in shots on goal (100), ranks fourth on the team in plus/minus rating (plus-10), and is tied for fifth in goals (12) this season.
Ryan Gropp, LW, Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL) - Gropp registered a goal on Dec. 7 at Kelowna, extending his point streak to six games at the time (six goals, three assists over the span). The Rangers' second round pick (41st overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has registered a point in 16 of the last 21 games, tallying 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists) over the span. Gropp has recorded 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) in 24 games with the Thunderbirds in 2016-17, and he ranks fifth on the team in points per game this season (0.88).
Adam Huska, G, University of Connecticut (NCAA) - Huska stopped 24 of 25 shots he faced and earned a win on Dec. 9 against UMass. In 10 appearances this season, the Rangers' seventh round pick (184th overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft has posted a 2.54 GAA and a .926 SV%, and he has made at least 30 saves in seven of his 10 appearances. Huska has earned a point in each of his last three appearances, posting a 2-0-1 record, along with a 1.62 GAA and a .947 SV%. In addition, Huska has earned at least one point in six of his seven appearances in games against conference opponents, posting a 4-1-2 record, along with a 1.95 GAA, a .940 SV%, and 1 SO against teams in Hockey East. Huska leads all Hockey East goaltenders in GAA and SV% in conference games in 2016-17.
Tarmo Reunanen, D, TUTO Hockey (Mestis) - Reunanen registered an assist during the past week. The Rangers' fourth round pick (98th overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has recorded six assists and has posted a plus-12 rating in 27 games this season.
Ty Ronning, RW, Vancouver Giants (WHL) - Ronning notched an assist on Dec. 9 vs. Everett. The Rangers' seventh round pick (201st overall) in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has tallied a point in 18 of 29 WHL games this season. Ronning ranks second on the team in goals (10) and assists (13), and ranks third on the team in points (23) this season.
Tyler Wall, G, UMass-Lowell (NCAA)- Wall stopped 16 of 17 shots he faced and earned a win on Dec. 9 against Merrimack. The Rangers' sixth round pick (174th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft has allowed two goals or fewer in 10 of his 14 appearances this season, as he has posted a 9-4-1 record, along with a 2.08 GAA, a .918 SV%, and 1 SO.
