New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has reduced its Training Camp roster to 29 players as Will Cuylle, Ty Emberson, Tim Gettinger, Lauri Pajuniemi and Andy Welinski have been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Cuylle played in two preseason games for the Rangers. Last season, he skated in 59 games for the Windsor Spitfires of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), posting 43 goals and 37 assists for 80 points and a plus-22 rating. Cuylle, captain of Windsor, ranked tied for sixth in the OHL in goals. In the 2021-22 postseason, Cuylle recorded 31 points (15G-16A) in 25 games. He ranked fourth in the OHL in playoff points, third in goals and fourth in assists. In addition, Cuylle was on the 2022 Canada World Junior Championship gold medal winning team.
Emberson skated in one game for the Blueshirts this preseason. In 58 games for the Tucson Roadrunners of the AHL in 2021-22, Emberson notched four goals and seven assists for 11 points.

Gettinger played in one preseason game for the Blueshirts this season. He played much of his 2021-22 season with Hartford, serving as an alternate captain, notching 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points and a plus-nine rating in 45 games. In addition, he skated in a career-high eight games for the Rangers in 2021-22, recording three shots.
Pajuniemi played his first season in North America in 2021-22, recording 13 goals and 13 assists for 26 points in 51 games for Hartford. He ranked tied for seventh on the Wolf Pack in goals and tied for ninth in points.
Welinski skated in two preseason contests for New York. On September 29 against New Jersey, Welinski led the Rangers with a team-high 21:40 minutes of ice time while adding three shots on goal. He spent the 2021-22 season with the Stockton Heat, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Calgary Flames, tallying three goals and 16 assists for 19 points and a plus-12 rating in 39 games. He ranked fourth on the club among defenseman in points and tied for third in plus/minus.
