By the Numbers will highlight the Red Wings' on-ice accomplishments in the 2017-18 season. Each week during the off-season, By the Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on his statistical highs. This week we focus on defenseman Mike Green.

Just like for the Red Wings, Mike Green's season had a lot of ups and downs.
Green was the team's lone All-Star, representing the team at the All-Star Game in Tampa and scoring two goals and an assist in the process.
But Green ended the season on the sidelines after aggravating a neck injury that required surgery on April 5.
Green finished the final year of his three-year contract and enters this summer as an unrestricted free agent.
750 - Although just 32 years old, Green has been in the league for a long time. On Dec. 9 against the St. Louis Blues, Green skated in his 750th career game. He finished the season with 787 career games. Green played 23:08, recording two shots.
200 - After spending the first 10 seasons of his career with the Washington Capitals, Green signed with the Red Wings in 2015. On Feb. 11, Green skated in his 200th game with the Wings, ironically against the Capitals. Green had three shots in 21:36.
450 - On Dec. 19 when the Wings played the New York Islanders at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, Green scored a goal at 14:12, which gave Detroit a 5-3 lead. The goal was the 450th point of Green's career.
300 - In a year filled with milestones, Green hit a nice one in the Wings' inaugural regular-season game at Little Caesars Arena on Oct. 5 against the Minnesota Wild. Detroit got a 4-2 victory and Green assisted on all four goals. That gave Green 300 career assists. He finished the season with 322.
100 - On Feb. 13 in a 2-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks, Green recorded an assist on Frans Nielsen's game-winner. It marked the 100th point for Green in a Detroit uniform.
27 - Green led the team in time on ice at 22:04 for the season but went above and beyond with a 27-minute effort on Oct. 28 at the Florida Panthers. That is the most for any Wing in a single game this past season. Green had three shots and was plus-1 in that game.
4 - When Green assisted on all four goals in the 4-2 victory over Minnesota in the opening game at Little Caesars Arena on Oct. 5, it was the first time a Wings defenseman had four assists in a game since Niklas Kronwall on Dec. 19, 2007. Only Anthony Mantha (March 6 at Boston) and Henrik Zetterberg (Feb. 9 at the New York Islanders and Oct. 13 at the Vegas Golden Knights) had four-point games this season.
