By the Numbers will highlight the Red Wings' on-ice accomplishments in the 2018-19 season. Each week during the offseason, By the Numbers will profile a different player on the team, focusing on his statistical highs. This week we focus on forward Tyler Bertuzzi.

One thing that became clear during the 2018-19 season is that when Detroit Red Wings forward Tyler Bertuzzi has a full, healthy summer to train, it has a real positive impact on his season.
For the first time in a while, Bertuzzi was able to spend all of last summer working out at a high level rather than recovering from a nagging injury and the results showed.
Bertuzzi finished with career highs in every category, including games played, while establishing himself as a top-line winger alongside center Dylan Larkin and fellow wing Anthony Mantha.
At 24 years old, Bertuzzi is entering his prime and already has one 20-plus-goal season under his belt.
With his willingness to go to the hard areas, including the net-front, Bertuzzi can take the next step in his development by increasing his production on the power play, where he had only six of his 47 points.
Bertuzzi's high hockey IQ and accompanying grit make him a hard player to play against and someone who will continue to get better as he develops along with the other young Wings.
100 -- On Jan. 12 at Minnesota, Bertuzzi played in his 100th career game, a 5-2 victory.
1 -- Bertuzzi made his 100th game a very memorable one, scoring his first career hat trick. He scored the first goal of the game 24 seconds into the first period, assisted by Gustav Nyquist and Larkin. Bertuzzi then scored the final two goals of the game, 47 seconds into the third, assisted by Larkin and Mike Green, and at 8:38 of the third, assisted by Nyquist and Larkin.
4 -- For an Original Six team, it's hard to believe that there are still records to be set. Yet Bertuzzi set a new one with four straight three-point games from March 28-April 2. He was the first NHL player to turn that trick since Keith Tkachuk did so for the St. Louis Blues from Dec. 1-10, 2005 and Patrick Marleau did so for the San Jose Sharks from Dec. 2-8, 2005.

50 -- On Jan. 18 at Calgary, Bertuzzi recorded his 49th and 50th career point, assisting on Larkin's second-period goal and on Larkin's third-period goal.
73 -- Bertuzzi finished with 73 games in his first full season, which ranked fifth on the team. Niklas Kronwall was first with 79 games.
21 -- In his 73 games, Bertuzzi scored 21 goals, fourth on the Wings behind Larkin's 32, Andreas Athanasiou's 30 and Anthony Mantha's 25. It was three-times the seven goals Bertuzzi had in 48 games during the 2017-18 season. Bertuzzi had two goals, including the overtime winner, and an assist in a 5-4 win over Buffalo on March 28; he had a goal and two assists in a 4-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils on March 29; Bertuzzi had assists on all three of Mantha's goals in a 6-3 win over the Boston Bruins on March 31; and Bertuzzi had two goals and an assist in a 4-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins on April 2.
26 -- Bertuzzi had 26 assists, which was third on the Red Wings behind Larkin's 41 and Nyquist's 33.
47 -- With 47 total points, Bertuzzi ranked fifth on the Wings. Larkin led with 73, Athanasiou was second with 54, Nyquist was third with 49 and Mantha was fourth with 48.
11 -- Bertuzzi was first on the Wings in plus-minus at plus-11. Luke Glendening, Danny DeKeyser and Dylan McIlrath were all behind Bertuzzi at plus-2.
4 -- With four game-winning goals, Bertuzzi was tied with Larkin, Athanasiou and Frans Nielsen for the team lead.
2 -- On Nov. 28 in a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues, the night that the Red Wings gave away Bertuzzi bobbleheads, Bertuzzi scored two goals, his second career two-goal game. Bertuzzi scored the Wings' last two goals, at 11:04 of the second, assisted by Glendening and Green, and at 13:07 of the third, assisted by Michael Rasmussen.
