DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings today reassigned goaltender Kevin Boyle to the taxi squad from the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins and reassigned goaltender Kaden Fulcher to the Griffins from the taxi squad.

Boyle, 28, has appeared in nine games with Grand Rapids this season, posting a 5-2-1 record, 2.84 goals-against average and 0.886 save percentage. The netminder signed with Detroit this offseason after spending four seasons in the Anaheim Ducks organization. He played 20 games for their AHL affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, in 2019-20, posting a 9-7-2 record, 2.82 goals-against average and 0.911 save percentage. In 126 career AHL games, Boyle owns a 67-40-11 record, 2.72 goals-against average, 0.913 save percentage and two shutouts. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound netminder posted a shutout in his first NHL start with Anaheim on Feb. 13, 2019, stopping all 35 shots he faced against the Vancouver Canucks. In five career NHL appearances, Boyle is 1-3-0 with a 2.17 goals-against average and 0.928 save percentage.
Originally signed by Anaheim as an undrafted free agent in March 2016, Boyle spent two collegiate seasons at the University of Massachusetts from 2011-13 before transferring to UMass-Lowell for his final two seasons (2014-16). Boyle capped off his senior season with Hockey East Goaltender of the Year and Player of the Year honors and was the most-valuable player of the conference tournament, going 24-10-5 with a 1.83 goals-against average and 0.934 save percentage in 39 games. The Manalapan, N.J. native was previously an All-Rookie Team selection in the British Columbia Hockey League after posting a 20-16-1 record with the Westside Warriors in 2010-11.
Fulcher, 22, is in his third professional season after being limited to two games during the 2019-20 campaign with the ECHL's Toledo Walleye due to injury. Fulcher made his season debut and AHL debut with the Griffins on Saturday, making 25 saves in the team's 4-3 overtime loss to the Iowa Wild in his first game action at any level since Jan. 4, 2020 with Toledo. The netminder has appeared in 30 games with the Walleye over his first two professional seasons, posting a 15-9-6 record, 3.17 goals-against average, 0.894 save percentage and one shutout. Fulcher made his NHL debut in relief duty during the Red Wings season finale on April 6, 2019 against Buffalo, making nine saves on 11 shots on goal.
Originally signed by the Red Wings as an undrafted free agent on Oct. 3, 2017, Fulcher was a 2018 Ontario Hockey League champion with the Hamilton Bulldogs and posted a 57-44-13 record, 3.19 goals-against average, 0.893 save percentage and five shutouts in 115 OHL games from 2015-18. The 6-foot-3, 201-pound netminder was also named the Most Outstanding Goaltender at the Canadian Hockey League Memorial Cup following a 2.27 goals-against average and 0.918 save percentage in four games at the 2018 tournament.
