The Red Wings are excited to celebrate Kids Day at Little Caesars this Sunday, March 28 as the Wings host the Columbus Blue Jackets in a 3 p.m. matinee matchup.
For Kids Day, the Red Wings are getting Detroit youth involved in all aspects of the gameday experience, both at Little Caesars Arena and virtually, with junior in-arena hosts, junior National Anthem singer and junior public address announcer, as well as several kid-friendly initiatives on Detroit's second-screen experience, Hockeytown Home Ice.
Hockeytown Home Ice will feature kids-themed trivia and games, kid-drawn pictures of Red Wings players to be used as gameday headshots, specially themed videos throughout the matchup and much more.
The National Anthem will be performed by 14-year-old Srushti Gubbi, who's performed the anthem for the Detroit Tigers and Lions, as well as at Madison Square Garden in New York and at tennis' U.S. Open. And returning to the public address microphone for his second straight Kids Day will be 7-year-old Lukas Freiny, who's the son of Little Caesars Arena PA announcer Erich Freiny.
