DETROIT -- Dylan Larkin scored in the second period to put his team on the board, and Michael Rasmussen tallied the game-winner in the 13th minute of the third period, leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 2-1 win over the New York Islanders at Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday night.
Detroit goalie Alex Nedeljkovic turned aside 33 of 34 shots, surrendering his only goal in the 18th minute of the final period.
With the win, Detroit improved to 14-12-3 (31 points) and is 8-2-2 when scoring first this season. New York dropped to 7-12-5 overall.
