DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings today recalled defenseman Brian Lashoff from the American Hockey League's Grand Rapids Griffins. Additionally, the Red Wings placed defenseman Gustav Lindstrom on injured reserve retroactive to Dec. 4.

Lashoff, 31, is in his 13th season with the Griffins in 2021-22 and has logged three points (2-1-3), a plus-seven rating and 10 penalty minutes in 16 games. Lashoff, who serves as captain of the Griffins and is second in franchise history with 529 games played, has totaled 112 points (28-84-112), a plus-39 rating and 279 penalty minutes since debuting for the team in 2008-09. He helped Grand Rapids win Calder Cup championships in 2013 and 2017 and has totaled 20 points (5-15-20), a plus-three rating and 34 penalty minutes in 75 AHL postseason games. Lashoff has also appeared in parts of seven seasons with the Red Wings since 2012-13, logging 15 points (2-13-15) and 65 penalty minutes in 136 games, also making eight postseason appearances for the club in 2013 and 2014.
Originally signed by Detroit as an undrafted free agent on July 30, 2008, Lashoff rejoined the organization in July after he was involved in a three-team trade between Columbus, Detroit and Tampa Bay that saw him ultimately loaned back to the Griffins by the Lightning. Prior to turning pro, Lashoff logged four seasons in the Ontario Hockey League and recorded 91 points (20-71-91) and 186 penalty minutes in 215 games with the Barrie Colts and Kingston Frontenacs from 2006-10 prior to turning professional. The Albany, N.Y., native also won a gold medal for the United States at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatchewan, picking up two assists in seven games.
