Derick Brassard's second stint with the Senators is now official.

The veteran centre joined the club on a professional tryout in mid-September and impressed enough during training camp to earn a contract.
"I'm excited to be back here and have a chance to play with these guys," he said after signing his deal. "It's been great meeting all the new, young guys and seeing the energy they bring on the ice."
The Hull, Que. native previously played for the Senators for 139 games from 2016 to 2018 netting 77 points along with 11 points in 19 games during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs as Ottawa advanced to the Eastern Conference Final.
"He wanted to come back here and only here," Senators head coach D.J. Smith explained. "As a 13th or 14th guy, he can be very useful and has tons of ability and a great hockey sense."
