Daccord made 33 saves as the Sens beat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 at Canadian Tire Centre Sunday night.
"What an incredible feeling," Daccord said. "The effort the guys gave tonight was outstanding. It's just a really special moment."
Drake Batherson had two goals while Brady Tkachuk and Ryan Dzingel also scored for the Sens (10-20-1). Zach Hyman had both of Toronto's (19-9-2) goals while Frederik Andersen made 26 saves. Michael Hutchinson started in goal for the Maple Leafs but was pulled after allowing two goals on three shots.
Matt Murray led the Sens out for warmups but suffered an upper-body injury a few minutes in and was unable to play.
"Joey came in, battled, did everything he could to give us every opportunity and we finally give him some goal support and the kid gets his first win," Sens head coach D.J. Smith said.
The Senators got a pair of quick goals early into the first as Tkachuk and Dzingel scored within seven seconds. Tkachuk took advantage of a Travis Boyd turnover near the blue line before squeezing the puck between Hutchinson at 6:06 before Dzingel went five-hole for his third in a Sens jersey moments later to chase the Maple Leafs' goaltender.
Toronto got on the board through Hyman at 11:38 as he poked in his ninth of the season with the puck sitting loosely on the edge of the crease.
Ottawa again used a quick burst to increase its lead with Batherson scoring twice in 53 seconds to push the Sens' lead to 4-1 in the second period.
His first came on the power play at 5:00 as he finished a gorgeous feed from Tim Stützle before burying a rebound less than a minute later as he recorded the second multi-goal game of his NHL career.
"I was just hanging on the backside there and there was three sticks in the middle of the ice and I didn't expect it to come on my tape," Batherson said of Stützle's pass. "Next thing you know, backhand sauce. Landed it right on my tape. I had the open cage and fired it in.
"I didn't even want to celebrate. I wanted him to celebrate with how nice that pass was. It was an unbelievable play by him."
Ilya Mikheyev thought he had got Toronto's second of the night at 10:01 of the third but after Smith challenged the play for goaltender interference, the call was overturned. The Maple Leafs would get their second of the game though, again through Hyman, as he potted a puck out front to reach double-digit goals at 14:40.
The Maple Leafs made it a tense final few minutes for the Sens as Tavares scored with 2:12 to play but Ottawa held on to get back to .500 at home.
"I definitely made it really hard on him to finish it off," Tkachuk said after he missed an empty-net goal while it was still 4-2. "But you've got to make things interesting for him. I think he'll remember that one for sure."
With an assist on Batherson's second goal, Chris Tierney recorded the 200th point of his NHL career. Clark Bishop had the primary assist on Dzingel's goal and in the process recorded his first point as a Senator.
Daccord's win made him the 31st goaltender in Senators history to win a game for the franchise.
The Senators are back in action Monday when they host Vancouver for the first time this season.
